Kim Kap-soo(김갑수), renowned in the Korean drama scene as a 'death scene specialist,' has once again captivated audiences with his portrayal of Chairman Hong Man-dae in the popular drama 'Queen of Tears (눈물의 여왕),' where he dramatically ends his own life in episode 12, followed by his funeral scene in episode 13.

Kim has a unique record in the industry for dying in consecutive episodes of different dramas back in 2010. He met his end on April 27 in 'Jejungwon (제중원)' and then again the following day in 'Cinderella's Stepsister (신데렐라 언니),' marking an unusual streak of on-screen deaths.

Speaking on MBC's entertainment program 'The Knee-Drop Guru (무릎팍도사),' Kim humorously expressed his desire to "live longer in dramas." Despite this wish, his characters often continue to die, appearing posthumously mainly in flashback scenes. Interestingly, Kim revealed that the compensation for flashback scenes is only 30-50% of the usual fee, and he even earns a small fee if only a photograph of him is shown, which he mentioned with a hearty laugh.

Kim also set a record for the 'shortest duration before death' in the drama 'Home Sweet Home (즐거운 나의 집),' where his character died just 1 minute and 20 seconds after appearing, creating a buzz online for this brief appearance.

His roles have since continued to meet untimely ends in several other series, including 'Mr. Sunshine (미스터 션샤인),' 'Haechi (해치),' and 'Designated Survivor: 60 Days (60일, 지정생존자),' consistently showcasing his unique flair in portraying death scenes.

Although his characters often have short lifespans within the stories, Kim's impactful presence has earned him the moniker of an 'immortal actor.'

The anticipation for his next roles is high, as fans are keen to see how long he will last and how his eventual demise will be depicted, which has become a point of intrigue and anticipation in his career trajectory.

Meanwhile, in 'Queen of Tears,' the secret room of Chairman Hong Man-dae, portrayed by Kim Kap-soo, did not contain the 900 billion won in slush funds as suspected. Moslhee (played by Lee Mi-sook) used a clue from an old video recorded by Chairman Hong in his youth to learn about the secret room and has already siphoned off the funds. Moslhee has announced plans to use this illicit money to secure her son Yoon Eun-sung's (Park Sung-hoon) position in the competition, but whether her plans will unfold as expected continues to add suspense to the drama, keeping viewers eagerly awaiting future episodes.
