It is important to note that "SONMAT" translates literally to "taste of the hand," but its meaning goes much deeper in Korean culinary culture. "SONMAT" signifies the "sincere flavor that comes from the hands," reflecting the care and dedication put into the cooking.

When Kim Jae-joong was first introduced, the show declared, "A master of SONMAT has appeared!" Unlike many who rely on precise measurements, Kim Jae-joong intuitively gauged the amounts of seasonings and ingredients, showcasing his natural cooking style. He explained that he often cooks by feel, leading the screen to display the caption, "I am a SONMAT chef."

As the time came to mix all the ingredients, Kim Jae-joong adjusted his stance and began the task with skill and confidence. The screen read, "SONMAT is mother's touch," meaning he was able to handle the task skillfully without tools, just like experienced mothers who cook effortlessly.

In Korean culinary culture, "SONMAT" holds significant importance. It represents more than just the combination of ingredients or cooking methods; it embodies the cook's experience, care, and personal touch. This concept is especially prominent in home-cooked and traditional dishes.

For instance, the phrase "mother's SONMAT" implies that the food prepared by one's mother has a unique, exceptional taste that reflects her distinctive cooking methods and years of experience. SONMAT goes beyond mere cooking skills, symbolizing the special flavor infused with a mother's love and dedication. It is not about the literal "taste of the hand," but the heartfelt effort and personal touch in the preparation.

Kim Jae-joong's showcase of SONMAT on "Stars' Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant" beautifully illustrated this cherished aspect of Korean cuisine.
