KATSEYE(캣츠아이) Surprises Fans with Sneak Peek of Debut Single at Weverse Con

Global girl group KATSEYE, formed by HYBE and Geffen Records, has sparked excitement by previewing their debut song and performance.

On June 15, KATSEYE (members Daniela, Lara, Manon, Megan, Sophia, and Yunchae) greeted fans through a video on the outdoor stage screen at the 2024 Weverse Con Festival held at Incheon Inspire Entertainment Resort.

In the video, KATSEYE announced, "Our first single 'Debut' will be released on June 28. We have worked incredibly hard, and we are thrilled to share our music with global fans. Each day feels like an exciting countdown." The members then gave a brief glimpse of their 'Debut' performance. Although the clip was only about 10 seconds long, its catchy melody and addictive choreography captivated the audience's attention.

KATSEYE added, "While we're greeting you through video this time, we look forward to meeting you in person soon," further heightening fans' anticipation.

Previously, HYBE and Geffen Records officially announced that KATSEYE would debut on June 28 at midnight Eastern Time (1 PM KST). They also revealed plans to release a second single and an EP in July and August, respectively.

KATSEYE was formed through the audition program 'The Debut: Dream Academy,' which aired from September to November last year. The six members were selected from 120,000 applicants through missions that evaluated their dance, vocals, teamwork, concept versatility, and artistry.

KATSEYE is the first girl group from HYBE and Geffen Records to debut and perform in the mainstream U.S. pop market. The group's potential to globalize the K-pop system has attracted significant attention from music fans and industry professionals worldwide.

This summer, KATSEYE's journey will be featured in the Netflix documentary series 'Pop Star Academy: KATSEYE.' The series will document their unique training and development program, the creation process of this one-of-a-kind girl group, and their path to becoming global stars. Directed by Nadia Hallgren, known for her Emmy-nominated documentary 'Becoming,' the series promises an in-depth look at KATSEYE's rise.
