On July 1, BTS (방탄소년단) leader RM’s sister made headlines by opening a 50-pyeong café in Seongsu-dong, Seongdong-gu, Seoul.

Spaces operated by BTS family members often become must-visit spots for fans, and this new café is no exception. News of the opening quickly spread through online communities, with many fans sharing photos of their visits. 

Notably, a congratulatory wreath gifted by RM drew significant attention. The message on the wreath read, "Sister, I support your new beginning! Kim Nam-joon," showcasing his warm encouragement.

Located on a main street in Seongsu-dong, the café is situated opposite a well-known clothing brand's concept store, adding to the area's commercial value. Seongsu-dong has recently become a hot spot among the younger generation, regularly hosting pop-up stores and various events. Notably, recent events such as J-Hope’s pop-up store, the 'BTS POP-UP: MONOCHROME', and V’s digital single release party 'FRI(END)S PARTY' were also held in Seongsu-dong.

RM and his sister share a history of memorable stories. For instance, during middle school, RM took all the umbrellas from their home on a rainy day to prank his sister. In another incident, when their parents were away, RM, upset over his sister’s threat to tattle on him for using the computer, scattered her beads on the floor. Today, however, the two are known to have a close relationship.

The café’s signature menu item is ‘Far ben Chio,’ a sweet coffee topped with savory peanuts. Visitors to RM’s sister’s café have left positive reviews, saying, "The café atmosphere has an MZ vibe," "The coffee is delicious," and "The music is excellent." Such feedback is expected to attract even more visitors in the future.

This isn’t the first time a BTS family member has ventured into the food and beverage industry. Jin’s brother operates a Japanese restaurant, ‘Ossu Seiromushi,’ in Seoul’s Yeouido district, and Jimin’s father runs the café ‘MAGNATE’ in Busan. RM’s sister’s new café is similarly drawing significant attention from fans.

As Seongsu-dong’s newest hot spot, RM’s sister’s café is anticipated to remain a popular attraction. It’s expected to draw not only domestic fans but also international ARMY members, potentially elevating Seongsu-dong to a global destination.
