Singer and actor Lee Seung-gi(이승기) has appealed to the public to avoid targeting his family after the Supreme Court overturned the acquittal of his father-in-law, Mr. A, who was accused of stock manipulation. 

Big Planet Made Entertainment, Lee Seung-gi's agency, issued a statement on the 16th, revealing that the Supreme Court had recently decided to remand Mr. A's 2016 stock manipulation case. The agency requested, "As Lee Seung-gi approaches his 20th anniversary as an artist and strives to connect more closely with his fans, we earnestly ask that his family be left alone."

The statement continued, "Lee Seung-gi is now a husband, father, and son-in-law who shoulders the responsibility of his family. His father-in-law and mother-in-law have also recently become grandparents. It is crucial to note that these issues occurred before Lee Seung-gi's marriage and are matters for the family to resolve."

Furthermore, the agency warned against false news and malicious comments, stating, "We will take stronger legal action against fake news and defamatory comments about Lee Seung-gi and his family."

Lee Seung-gi married actress Lee Da-in(이다인), the daughter of actress Kyeon Mi-ri (견미리), in April last year, and they welcomed their daughter in February.

Recently, the Supreme Court's third division overturned the lower court's acquittal of Lee Seung-gi's father-in-law, Mr. A, who was accused of manipulating stock prices through false disclosures to gain tens of billions of won in illicit profits. The case has been sent back to the Seoul High Court for a retrial.
