On June 12, countless ARMYs gathered at HYBE headquarters in Yongsan to welcome BTS's Jin following his military discharge.

Jin completed his service as an instructor at the 5th Infantry Division recruit training center in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province, and immediately headed to Yongsan upon his discharge.

At the 5th Infantry Division in Yeoncheon, where Jin was discharged, there were no ARMYs present. Over 100 domestic and international media outlets were on site, but BTS's agency, BigHit Music, had preemptively requested fans to refrain from visiting the location via the global fandom platform Weverse to prevent any potential safety issues caused by overcrowding.

ARMYs demonstrated maturity by respecting the agency's notice and avoiding the military base. The BTS fanbase is known for their belief that "if ARMYs misbehave, it reflects poorly on our artist," and they adhered to this principle. Instead of visiting the site, fans celebrated Jin's discharge with various banners, placards, and wrapping buses. Despite this, approximately 70 police officers and local government and fire department officials were present to ensure the event proceeded smoothly and safely.

Jin moved to the HYBE headquarters in Yongsan, where many ARMYs gathered to welcome him. Upon his arrival at HYBE, Jin shared a message on Weverse expressing his gratitude to the press and fans. He wrote, "Thank you to the reporters who took beautiful discharge photos today and to the ARMYs who came to the company to show their love. I couldn't greet you properly due to the crowd, but thank you so much~♡ Our ARMYs are the best."

Jin then began his first LIVE on Weverse, thanking fans for their support. During the LIVE, he addressed the hug event scheduled for the 2024 BTS FESTA, saying, "I wasn't aware of the details. I'm sorry for not paying attention."

Jin continued, "It's been almost 1 year and 6 months since I last sang, so I might be a bit rusty, but I'll do my best. Please understand if the event isn't perfect." This live broadcast was Jin's first solo Weverse live since his birthday live on December 4, 2022, attracting a total of 3,538,305 views and a peak of 900,093 concurrent viewers, showcasing significant interest from fans.

Both domestic and international fans celebrated Jin's discharge near the HYBE headquarters during the live broadcast. An estimated 1,000 fans (500 according to police estimates) gathered, with 35 police officers ensuring safety and order, resulting in no incidents.

The front of the HYBE headquarters is wrapped with the phrase "Apobangpo(아포방포)," which stands for "ARMY Forever, BTS Forever," to celebrate the start of the '2024 FESTA' from June 13. This wrapping idea, including the slogan, was conceived by the members and the company together.

Jin is set to participate in the '2024 FESTA,' celebrating BTS's 11th debut anniversary, as his first event after discharge. The event will take place at the Seoul Olympic Stadium futsal field and sports park from 11 AM to 9 PM.

The first part of the event, 'Jin's Greetings,' will be held at 3 PM at the Jamsil Indoor Stadium, where Jin will meet 1,000 fans for a hug event. The second part, titled 'Seokjin's Weather Forecast: Sunny on June 13, 2024,' will invite 4,000 fans for performances and interactions at 8 PM.

The next BTS member scheduled for discharge is J-Hope, who is currently serving as an instructor at the 36th Infantry Division recruit training center in Wonju, Gangwon Province, with his discharge date set for October 17, 2024.
